NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Twelve men's indoor track and field student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) received All-Great Lakes Region accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on March 7, 2023. The student-athletes totaled 16 All-Region honors.
Olivet College's Jordon Brown collected All-Region accolades in both the 200m dash and the 400m dash, while Trine University's Greysen Spohn was regionally recognized in both the 60m hurdles and the high jump. Hope College's Lucas Guidone and Eli Meder are also two-time All-Region honorees this season in both the 800m run and the distance medley relay.
The Flying Dutchmen's All-Region distance medley relay also includes Connor Vachon and Nathan Woolum.
Trine is additionally represented by Jake Gladieux and Theodore Samra. Gladieux earned a regional nod as the top-regional performer in the 60m hurdles, while Samra was recognized for his performance in the weight throw.
Weston Kvalevog and Theo Shepherd both represent Adrian College with All-Region honors in the high jump. Shepherd was the top-regional performer in the event.
Mason Darden of Albion College was announced as an All-Region athlete after concluding competition as the top-regional performance in the weight throw.
Calvin University's Brandan Knepper received All-Region honors in the 5000m run.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region’s top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.
