FREELAND, Mich. -- On Tuesday, March 1, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the indoor track and field student-athletes as All-MIAA performers following the 2022 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Trine junior Jake Gladieux was selected as the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Men's Track Athlete after assisting the Thunder to their third-straight MIAA Championship on Saturday. Gladieux notched a victory in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.17. His time of 50.25 in the 400m dash earned him the championship title in the event. Gladieux also finished second in the 200m dash after clocking in at 22.36.
On the women's side, senior Evie (Bultemeyer) Miller was voted as the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Track Athlete. Miller notched a victory in the one-mile run with a time of 5:10.01 and won the 3000m in a time of 10:19.20. She also concluded the 800m run in second place after clocking in at 2:13.64. According to TFRRS, Miller's performance in the 800m is currently ranked 10th in the nation.
Graduate student Trevor Knowles of Albion earned the title of 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Men's Field Athlete following his performances at the meet. Knowles became the triple jump champion at the MIAA Championships after jumping 13.76m. He also earned a second-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.76m and finished third in the high jump (1.89m).
Trine sophomore Haley Livingston became a two-time MIAA Most Valuable Field Athlete this season. Livingston broke the previous record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.94. She also broke the long jump record from 2017 with a leap of 5.57m. Livingston earned second-place finishes in both the triple jump (11.21m) and the 60m dash (7.91), along with a third-place finish in the 200m dash (26.68).
