Four MIAA men's indoor track and field competitors brought home All-America honors at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston, Mass.
Trine's Jeffery Barnett reached 7.31m on his fifth attempt in the long jump to finish second nationally for the third consecutive season.
In the 60m hurdles, Adrian's Jordan Davis won his prelim heat with a time of 8.12 to automatically qualify for Saturday's final; Davis posted a prelim time of 8.12 seconds. In the event championship, Davis crossed the line in 8.05 seconds for third place overall. Teammate Denzel Tinsley posted a time of 8.367 seconds in the prelims to finish 16th.
In the high jump, Adrian's Nicholas Jackson cleared 2.03m on his first attempt but was unable to clear 2.06m to finish seventh nationally and earn All-America honors.
In the 200m dash, Adrian's Randolph Fry posted the sixth-fastest time in Friday prelims (21.870); in the Saturday final, Fry crossed the line in 24.49 seconds to place eighth and garner All-America honors.
Calvin's Tyler Johnson finished just out of All-America status in the 5,000m run, finishing ninth in 14:39.98.
Olivet's Noah Bailey faulted three times for no distance in the triple jump. Teammate Jacob Smith did not mark in three attempts in the shot put for no distance.
Adrian finished tied for 26th with nine points, the highest finish by an MIAA team in sponsored-sport history, Trine tied for 30th with eight points. North Central claimed the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship.
