Kalamazoo's Men's Tennis to Face Nazareth in NCAA DIII Tournament

The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team will face Nazareth College in the first round of the NCAA III Championships on Friday, May 13, at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Kalamazoo earned the MIAA's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships with a 5-2 win over Hope College last Friday in the MIAA Tournament championship. Kalamazoo finished the regular season 13-7 overall and won the MIAA regular season title with a 7-0 league record.

Nazareth College, located in Rochester, N.Y., is making its first appearance in the NCAA III Championships after winning the Empire 8 Tournament with a 5-3 win over Houghton College. The Nazareth Golden Flyers finished the season 12-4 overall and 6-2 in the conference.

The winner of Friday's first round match will face No. 39 Wisconsin-Whitewater (21-2) on Saturday. The winner of that match will play the winner of the other side of the regional bracket on Sunday.

The other side of the bracket features a first round matchup between Ohio Northern University (22-4) and Grove City College (16-2). The winner of that match will play Case Western (21-4) on Saturday.
