Four MIAA Men's Tennis Programs and Twenty-Two Players Recognized for Academic Success by ITA

On July 13, four men's tennis programs from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were named 2021-22 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Teams, with 22 tennis players earning ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.

In 2022, 940 Division III men’s student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, including 22 from the conference.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

  • have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
  • be listed on the institutional eligibility form

Out of 125 Division III men's tennis programs that received ITA All-Academic accolades, the four MIAA teams include: Albion College, Calvin University, Kalamazoo College, and Trine University.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

  • have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
  • all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
  • all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
