ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team's season came to an end Sunday with a 5-0 loss to Washington University in St. Louis in the third round of the NCAA III Championships. 

The region's top-ranked team won all three singles matches over the Hornets before winning at one and two singles to clinch the match. Kalamazoo entered as the fifth-ranked team in the region.

Kalamazoo's season ends with a 10-1 overall record.

Ian Yi is scheduled to compete in the NCAA III Singles Championships May 28-30 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Yi and Daniel Henry are the second alternate team in doubles and await word on whether or not they will be moved into the 16-team field.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Luther College 5-1 in the second round of the NCAA III Championships on Saturday.

Kalamazoo won two out of three doubles matches before winning three singles matches to claim the win.

After falling at one doubles, Peter Fitzgerald/Tytus Metzler won 8-5 at two doubles. Jai Banerji/Dylan Drier won the Hornets' second doubles point with an 8-6 win at three.

Ian Yi won 6-2, 6-1 at one singles followed by Drier (6-4, 6-0) at six and Gabe Vidinas (6-0, 6-2) at five. 

Kalamazoo will face the winner of the Saturday afternoon WashU/Augustana match on Sunday at 10 a.m. CDT.
