Calvin University's Dan Gelderloos Named 2024 MIAA Men's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) proudly announces Calvin University's Dan Gelderloos as the 2024 Men's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year.

This prestigious accolade is a coaches vote based on the achievements of their colleagues both during regular- and post-season competition.

Gelderloos was selected as the 2024 Men's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year after leading the Knights to defend the MIAA Championship title.  With Gelderloos at the helm of the program, Calvin is currently ranked seventh in the nation.

"I am honored to receive the award," commented Gelderloos. "This award is really a product of an exceptional coaching staff and an awesome group of athletes."

Under the leadership of Gelderloos, ten swimmers and two divers were selected to the 2024 All-MIAA First Team including 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Swimmer David Bajwa, 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Diver Wil Goodpaster, four-time All-MIAA honoree Julien Camy, three time All-MIAA selections Forrest Peterson and Joshua Seidelman, and two time All-MIAA honorees Caleb Gemmen, Timothy Hays, and Charles Platt.

The Calvin men's swimming and diving program will be represented by ten swimmers at the NCAA Championships which are scheduled for March 20-23 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Since taking over the program in 1996, the Calvin alum (1994) has led the Knights to seven MIAA Championship titles and seventeen NCAA Championship appearances.
