All-MIAA - Swimming & Diving - 2019-20

2020 MIAA Swimming & Diving Championship results, records and All-MIAA

At the conclusion of the 2020 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships Feb. 19-22, the head coaches of the six member institutions that sponsor the sport selected All-MIAA honorees.

For the men, Calvin's Julian Iturbe repeated as the MIAA Most Valuable Swimmer after winning the 100 free, 400 IM, and setting an MIAA record in the 500 free. Iturbe also swam on Calvin's winning 200 free relay and 400 free relay.

Hope's Kam Wilcox won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the MIAA Championship with scores of 447.60 and 474.65, respectively.

Among men's All-MIAA honorees, Albion's Tyler Kimbrell, Calvin's Tim Randall, and Hope's Dan Clyde garnered All-MIAA honors for the fourth consecutive year. Kimbrell won both the 100 breast and 200 breast events for the fourth consecutive year.

On the women's side, Hope's Emma Schaefer was a three-time individual winner with three NCAA B cut times in those events: 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM. Schaefer also aided in Hope's winning 800 free relay and 400 medley relay.

Calvin's Hannabeth Magnussen was victorious on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at the MIAA Championship, scoring 455.75 and 438.20, respectively.

Among women's All-MIAA honorees, Calvin's Emily Gunderson and Hope's Erin Emmert and Paula Nolte became four-time All-MIAA swimmers.

The Most Valuable Swimmer and Diver awards are voted on and announced immediately after the conclusion of the MIAA Swimming & Diving Championship. Individuals that are an MIAA champion in an individual event automatically qualify for All-MIAA honors. The remaining slots are voted on by the coaches.
