• Calvin opened their 2017-18 campaign Oct. 20 with a 177-58 setback to NCAA Division II Grand Valley State. Despite the loss, the Knights swam multiple races that timed in the top 20 nationally in their respective events. Freshman Julian Iturbe (Fr., Caracas, Venezuela) had an impressive debut with a time of 1:44.93 in the 200 free, which is 12th nationally.
• All six MIAA teams will be in action Friday, Oct. 27 at the MIAA Relays, hosted by Calvin at 6 p.m. at the Venema Aquatic Center.
• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Oct. 23 were:
