MIAA Men's Swimmers Compete at NCAA Championship

During the four-day 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championship, a pair of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association swimmers garnered All-America honors with their efforts at the national meet.

Calvin's Ben Holstege had the best finish of all MIAA competitors, placing fifth in the 100 backstroke in the Championship final. Holstege swam in 48.66, cutting over 0.1 seconds from his preliminary time to achieve All-America status.

Albion's Nate Kozycki also earned All-America honors with his sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly. Kozycki touched in 48.49 in the Championship final.

Albion's Jake Burris was a two-time consolation final participant in diving, winning the 3-meter diving Consolation Final. Burris then led three MIAA divers on the 1-meter board Consolation Final, placing 11th overall; Calvin's Michael Moentmann placed 15th, while Kalamazoo's Colin Grogan finished 16th.

As a team, Albion placed 16th overall with 43 points, while Calvin finished 21st with 36 points. With Grogan's effort in diving, Kalamazoo earned one point to rank Tied for 52nd.
