GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Top-seeded Calvin University notched a 1-0 victory over No. 6 The University of Olivet on Saturday, November 4, to secure the program's ninth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Soccer Tournament championship title.

After a scoreless first half, 2023 First Team All-MIAA honoree Zach Flowerday scored the lone goal of the contest with help from 2023 Second Team All-MIAA defender Evan Nieuwenhuis to clinch the Calvin victory.

The Knights led 5-0 in corner kicks and 15-6 in shots.  Comet Nicholas Van Port Fleet recorded the only save of the game in Olivet's third championship matchup in program history.

Calvin receives the automatic bid into the 2023 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament.  The DIII selection show is scheduled for November 6 at 2:00 p.m.  The First Round begins November 10-12 at campus sites.
