Calvin Men's Soccer Named Spring 2021 MIAA Champion, Tournament Bracket Released

Freeland, Mich -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has crowned Calvin University men's soccer the spring 2021 regular-season champion.  The Knights will compete as the No. 1 seed in the MIAA Men's Soccer Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, April 20.

Regular-Season Champion

Amid the uncertainty of college athletics in the 2020-2021 academic year, the MIAA scheduled what would have been the fall 2020 season in the spring of 2021.  The season consisted of seven conference games beginning on March 25.

Calvin concluded conference play with an unbeaten record of 6-0 to earn the regular-season title.  This is the 10th-straight MIAA Championship for the Knights and the 29th in program history.

MIAA Men's Soccer Tournament

In the spring of 2021, the MIAA expanded the tournament to eight teams allowing all schools to compete for the conference tournament championship.

Not all games were completed due to COVID-19 protocols, so the seeding was determined by the coaches' postseason rankings.

Competition will begin with the quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 20.  The semifinals will take place on Thursday, April 22, followed by the final on Saturday, April 24.
