Hunter Olson was named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-America First Team, senior Ian Adams was named to the second team and sophomore Sam Twigg to the third team.

The Calvin trio was honored Thursday night at a pre-nationals banquet held in Greensboro, North Carolina.

A native of Canton and a graduate of Canton High School, Olson is receiving United Soccer Coaches All-America honors for the first time. Earlier this fall, Olson was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Player and earned a spot on the All-MIAA First Team for the third straight year while also earning All-Central Region First Team honors. Olson is second on the Calvin team in scoring with 16 goals, 10 assists and 42 points. He is now ranked sixth on the Calvin career list in points (120) and sixth in career goals (46).

A winger, Adams hails from Grand Rapids. He is a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School. He was named to the All-MIAA First Team this fall as well as to the All-Central Region First Team. He has eight goals, 17 assists and 33 points on the season. He is ranked second nationally in assists. Adams banged in the game-winning goal in a 1-0 double-overtime victory over North Park on November 22 in an NCAA III Tournament Round of 16 match. He is tied for the Calvin career lead in assists (45) and is one assist shy of matching his own Calvin single-season record of 18. Three of his eight goals this year have been game-winners.

A forward, Twigg hails from Auckland, New Zealand. He leads Calvin in scoring with 15 goals, 15 assists and 45 points. He has three game-winning goals on the season. He has three goals and two assists in NCAA III Tournament play this fall.

"We're really excited to see these men recognized by the United Soccer Coaches," said Calvin men's soccer coach Ryan Souders. "It's been a really special season by all of our guys and they have been some of the leaders in that. I also know as proud as we are, we're all looking forward to getting the chance to compete again tomorrow."

Calvin is currently 23-1-1 overall heading into a national semifinal match Friday evening at 7:45 p.m. against Tufts University. Friday's match will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina.
