Calvin Claims MIAA Men's Soccer Title

The Calvin Knights men's soccer team went 7-0-0 during the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular season for the second consecutive year, and with a 2-0 win over Albion Oct. 30, the Knights secured the 2019 MIAA Men's Soccer Championship.

Calvin is now a 13-time consecutive MIAA champion in men's soccer, with nine consecutive seasons as the outright champion. Overall, the Knights have earned 30 outright or shared MIAA Championships since the 1970 season.

The Knights will be the top seed in the upcoming 2019 MIAA Men's Soccer Tournament Nov. 2, 6, and 9, where the winner will receive an automatic berth into the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship. Calvin will enter the tournament at the semifinal round Wednesday, Nov. 6, facing the winner of Saturday's first round contest between No. 4 Adrian and No. 5 Albion.

Also in the tournament are No. 2 seed Hope, who awaits the first round winner between No. 3 Kalamazoo and No. 6 Trine.
