Calvin Wins 2017 MIAA Men's Soccer Tournament Championship

The Knights remained unbeaten on the year and punched their ticket for the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship with their 5-0 victory over Adrian Saturday night at Eagles Stadium in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The MIAA tournament title was the fourth consecutive for the Knights.

Calvin (19-0-1) pressured Adrian early and frequently, taking a 2-0 lead at the half after goals by Hunter Olson and Bobby McCaw in the 26th and 34th minutes, respectively. The Knights remained relentless in the second half, out-shooting the Bulldogs 18-3 in the half while adding goals in the 56th, 63rd, and 70th minutes. 

McCaw finished with two goals for Calvin, While Olson charted two assists along with his game-winner. Ian Adams had one goal and one assist, while Jacob Lyon also scored for Calvin. 

Nate Van Ryn made three stops to maintain the shutout.

The Knights will learn their postseason berth when the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship bracket is announced Monday, Nov. 6 at 1:30 p.m. ET on ncaa.com.
