ALBION, Mich. - Albion College absorbed Kalamazoo College's pressure in the first half, and it had an opportunity to collect a point in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's soccer standings Wednesday afternoon.

Unfortunately for the Britons, Matthew Fitz placed a header past goalkeeper Justin Kraft with three seconds left in the first overtime as Kalamazoo walked off Alumni Field with a 2-1 victory. Kyle Hernandez settled the ball on the right side of the field and served in a cross to Fitz for the game-winner.

Albion knew it would have to absorb pressure after it scored a 2-1 victory at Kalamazoo in September. The Hornets held a 6-0 advantage in shots over the first 45 minutes, but Cal Kirchen produced the only goal.

Albion scored the equalizer early in the second half as Bobby Budlong buried a penalty kick for his fifth goal of the season. Gabe Martinez also generated a shot on goal in the second half.

Kraft kept Albion in the game by making seven saves.

Albion will play its next two on the road, starting with a 2:30 Saturday contest at Olivet College.
