Trine takes advantage of scoring chance

ALBION, Mich. – Trine University was not dangerous most of the day, but it made the most of a scoring chance to eke out a 1-0 victory over Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's soccer action at Alumni Field.

Bucky Carpenter scored in the 67th minute for the Thunder who improved to 4-5-1 overall and 1-3 against league rivals.

Despite taking nine of its 15 shots in the first half, Albion actually played better in the second half. Evan Schweizer was credited with taking six shots, placing five on goal. Joey Zaremski finished with three shots with one on goal.

Albion, now 4-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the league, faces a critical week with matches at Hope College and Alma College.
