Men’s Soccer Overcome Second Half Push to Beat Hope 1-0

Adrian, Mich. – The Adrian College men's soccer team were victorious over Hope 1-0. The lone goal was scored when sophomore Sean Cain gave a perfect ball to freshman Brandon Katona who headed it in at 34:10 into the first half. The Bulldog defense held strong and helped senior goalkeeper Lino Taormina earn his first shutout of the season.

The Dutchmen dominated offensive possession in the second half attempting 18 shots, Adrian only attempted three in the period, but were unable to capitalize on any of their chances.

The win has the Bulldogs tied for first place in the MIAA with Calvin; both teams are at 3-0. The loss has Hope sitting in a three-way tie for last place at 0-3.

The Bulldogs will look to keep their position in the conference standings when they host Alma this Saturday, September 26. The match is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
