Adrian dumps Albion in overtime

ADRIAN, Mich. – Mark Proctor's goal in the 95th minute lifted Adrian College to a 2-1 victory over Albion College on the opening night of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play in men's soccer.

Adrian got the advantage for the game-winning goal when Steven Lockhart was called for a foul attempting to take the ball away from behind an Adrian player.

Andrew Prince staked Albion to the lead when he stuck a shot into the upper right corner in the 52ndminute. It was his first collegiate goal, and it was Albion's first goal in nearly 279 minutes of action.

Albion had other glorious scoring chances as it finished the night with a 23-13 edge in shots. Bobby Budlong, who placed four shots on goal, had an attempt punched over the crossbar by Adrian goalkeeper Lino Taormina early in the second half. Joey Zaremski was also credited with placed a pair of shots on goal for the Britons.

Albion, now 2-3-1 overall, completes the first week of league play with a 12 p.m. Saturday contest at Kalamazoo College.
