Albion MLAX's Magical Season Ends in NCAA Second Round

ROCHESTER, NY – Despite a hard-fought battle, the Albion College men's lacrosse team's season came to an end in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Britons fell to No. 2 and defending National Champion, RIT, 22-6.

Jace Conley led Albion with three points, scoring twice. Junior Sam Puzevic also added a pair of goals for the Britons. Freshman attacker Brendan Mercier scored a goal and dished out an assist, while senior captain Gerald Haadsma served up a pair of assists. 

From the start, RIT was poised, back in the National Tournament. After getting out to a 3-0 lead, Conley scored his first goal of the afternoon. The Tigers remained in control for much of the first half. 

The Britons closed the gap to 11-4 by halftime, but out of the break the host Tigers distanced themselves from Albion. 

In goal, Jack Gogonis made 18 saves for the Brits. 

Joey Tatar caused two turnovers. 

Albion ends the season 15-5, the most wins since 2017. That season, Albion fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
