MIAA Men's Lacrosse Week #10 Wrap-Up

MIAA Men's Lacrosse Week #10 Wrap-Up

• Adrian rebounded from their mid-week loss to Trine with a 12-10 win over Calvin April 22. Five Bulldogs tallied two goals in the victory, while Conor Redden (So., M, South Bend, Ind.) added three assists, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers.

• Albion tacked on two MIAA victories to their record last week, defeating Calvin April 19, 20-5, and edging Trine April 22, 12-11. Against the Thunder Saturday, the Brits rallied with seven fourth-quarter goals, scoring seven of the match's final nine goals to prevail. Kyle DeCamp (Jr., M, Howell, Mich.), who had 12 ground balls on the day, scored the game-winner with 11 seconds left on the clock, the third goal in the final 30 seconds of play for Albion. Mid-week, Albion's Alec Palmer (Fr., A, Spring Lake, Mich.) had a game-high six points on two goals and four assists against Calvin as the Brits out-shot the Knights 64-13.

• Alma took to the field for one contest last week, defeating MIAA foe Kalamazoo April 21, 14-7. Jared Nycz (So., A, Emla, N.Y.) totalled four goals and one assist to fuel the offense for the Scots, while Max Linscott (So., D, Columbus, Ohio) aided the defense with six ground balls and four caused turnovers.

• Olivet's 2-0 MIAA week lifted the Comets into a tie for second place - and give Olivet the tie-breaker over Hope in the standings - with their 17-16 overtime win at Hope April 22. Tyler Polendo (Sr., A, Battle Creek, Mich.) rattled the cage with 1:15 left in overtime to lift the Comets; Bryce Drew (So., A, Kingston, Ontario) had a team-high six points with five goals and one assist. Earlier in the week, Olivet posted a 19-3 win over Kalamaoo April 19, where the offense was paced by a five-goal outing by Polendo and the defense was bolstered by Charlie Haesler's (Sr., LSM, Clinton, Mich.) 11 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

• Trine split a pair of MIAA outings, with their win coming in convincing fashion over Adrian April 19, 17-2. In that contest, the Thunder held the Bulldogs to just five shots after the first quarter while clipping off 13 unanswered goals before the match was halted due to lightning. Tyler Klima (Fr., A, Schaumburg, Ill.) led all scorers with four goals.
