Hope Men's Lacrosse Sets School Record With Sixth Consecutive Win

The Hope College men's lacrosse team topped Concordia-Chicago 24-2 on Saturday to extend its win streak to a school-record six matches.

The visiting Flying Dutchmen improved their record to 6-3 with the nonleague victory.

Freshman Matthew Harkema of St. Louis Park, Minnesota (St. Louis Park HS) scored five times to lead Hope. He also recorded one of the Flying Dutchmen's eight assists.

Junior Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) added four goals and two assists. He scored three times to help the Flying Dutchmen grab an 11-0 first-period lead.

Senior Parker Osterink of Longwood, Florida (Seminole HS) and sophomore Grant Brogan of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS) chipped in three goals apiece.

Freshman Gino Battaglia of Lebanon, Ohio (Lebanon HS) recorded a team-high three assists and one goal.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, April 9 with the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener at Adrian. Start time is 1 p.m.
