Hope Men's Lacrosse Cruises Past Bethany, W.V. For Road Win

The Hope College men's lacrosse team matched the second-longest win streak in varsity history with a 22-3 nonleague win at Bethany, W.V. on Monday.

The Flying Dutchmen claimed their fourth consecutive victory — their longest such stretch since the 2014. The school record is five.

Junior Gunnar Elder scored a match-high six goals, including four during a first period where Hope grabbed an 8-1 lead.

Junior Zach Weber of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Pioneer HS) chipped in four goals.

Senior Parker Osterink of Longwood, Florida (Seminole HS) and freshman Gino Battaglia of Lebanon, Ohio (Lebanon HS) netted three goals apiece.

Sophomore Grant Brogan of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS) and freshman Matthew Harkema of St. Louis Park, Minnesota (St. Louis Park HS) each scored twice.

Sophomore Mike Odea of Naples, Florida (Barron Collier HS) and freshman Chase Edgar of Indiana, Pennsylvania (Kiski Prep HS) also had goals.

Sophomore Joey Williams of Farmington Hills, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central HS) and freshman Micky Williams of Farmington Hills, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central) split time in goal. Joey Williams made two first-half saves, while Micky Williams had three in the second half.

Hope returns to action on Thursday, March 24 at Van Andel Stadium against Southwestern, Texas. The match begins at 7 p.m.
