Albion Fails To Take Advantage

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College scored on one of 11 extra man opportunities in a 14-10 loss to Wittenberg University in a non-conference men's lacrosse contest.

Andrew Fuss scored twice and he dished out an assist and Austin Brady tacked on two goals as Wittenberg went on a six-goal binge to seize a 7-1 lead midway through the second quarter.

Cameron Braun tried to carry the Albion offense, producing a goal and an assist as the Britons scored on three consecutive possessions to cut the deficit to 7-4.

That was as close as Albion would get as T.J. Smith and Thomas Fuss scored 16 seconds apart to boost Wittenberg to a 9-4 halftime lead.

Albion mounted a fourth quarter rally, getting goals each from Braun and Dylan Neal.

Braun finished with three goals and two assists, and Neal and David DiRado chipped in with two goals and one assist apiece.

Goalkeeper Jordan Hempfling collected 14 saves.

Albion will travel to Otterbein University for a non-conference contest next Saturday.
