Hope Men's Lacrosse Falls At Elmhurst 9-6

Sophomore midfielder Grant Brogan of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS) scored two goals for the Hope College men's lacrosse team in a 9-6 loss to Elmhurst, Illinois on Friday.

The Flying Dutchmen are now 0-2 overall and will return to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. Central match at Illinois Wesleyan.

Four other players netted goals for Hope: senior midfielder Parker Osterink of Longwood, Florida (Seminole HS), junior attack Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), freshman Matthew Harkema of St. Louis Park, Minnesota (St. Louis Park HS) and freshman attack Gino Battaglia of Lebanon, Ohio (Lebanon HS).

Brogan and Elder each recorded an assist.

The Flying Dutchmen could not recover after falling behind 4-1 in the first period.

Sophomore goalie Joey Williams of Farmington Hills, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central HS) made eight saves for Hope.
