Elder, an attack from East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), also recorded four assists for the Flying Dutchmen. He led Hope in scoring last season with 49 goals and 21 assists.
Elder scored the Flying Dutchmen's lone goal in the fourth quarter. Millsaps (2-0) then ripped off four unanswered goals, including the go-ahead tally with 22 seconds remaining in regulation.
Hope also received two goals from freshman Matthew Harkema of St. Louis, Minnesota (St. Louis Park HS) and single goals from sophomore Grant Brogan of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS), senior Will Dommermuth of Littleton, Colorado (Littleton HS) and senior Parker Osterink of Longwood, Florida (Seminole HS). Battaglia is from Lebanon, Ohio (Lebanon HS).
Hope returns to action on Monday, Feb. 15 with an exhibition match at Tampa, Florida.
