Ten MIAA Golfers Announced as 2022-23 NCAA Division III GCAA All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. -- Ten golfers from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were named 2022-23 NCAA Division III All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically.  In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.  A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

200 NCAA Division III athletes from 75 schools earned 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholar honors.

Of the ten MIAA student-athletes recognized by the GCAA, both Adrian College and Trine University lead the league with three honorees each.  The All-America Scholar Bulldogs include Trevor Benoit, Joe Kowatch, and Joe Renfer.  Mark Civanich, Charlie Eriksen, and Kyler Rod represent the Thunder.  Hope College's Seth Almquist and Will Robson both earned a spot on the All-America Scholars list.  Calvin University was represented by Tim Braun and Kalamazoo College by Tyler Omness.
