At the conclusion of the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) men's golf season, Calvin University was named the MIAA Champion. The All-MIAA awards were also announced for the top 13 student-athletes, according to scoring average through four MIAA rounds and a season-ending 36-hole Fall Final on Oct. 15-16 at the PohlCat Golf Course in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
With a season-best 72.17 average, Calvin graduate student Sam Holland earned the title of the MIAA Men's Golf Most Valuable Golfer. Senior Kasen Anderson of Calvin was selected the Sportsmanship Award recipient in a vote of MIAA men's golf head coaches.
Holland earned his fifth-consecutive All-MIAA honors, while Hope's Jack Crawford and Trine's Mitch Lowney are now three-time All-MIAA honorees. Anderson, Trine's Mark Civanich and Hope's Will Robson have all received all-conference accolades for a second season.
As the top-four finishing teams, Calvin, Hope, Trine, and Adrian will all compete in the MIAA's Automatic-Qualifying Tournament this spring to determine which program will receive the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
