NORMAN, Okla. -- Five men's golfers from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were named 2020-21 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 40-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Calvin leads the conference on the list of All-American Scholars with three golfers, including junior Kasen Anderson, senior Sam Holland, and sophomore Jacob Siebenga. Kalamazoo's Jackson Jones and Parker Pickell also obtained All-American Scholar status.
Anderson was named the spring 2021 MIAA Most Valuable Golfer after ending as the conference leader with a 73.17 average. Holland became a four-time All-MIAA honoree after concluding the season tied-for-second with an average of 73.67. Jones is now a two-time All-MIAA recipient following a 74.50 average for a sixth-place finish in the league. Pickell finished the season with a 77.50 average and Siebenga with an average of 79.00.
