Hope Preps for NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship

The NCAA announced the 42-team field for the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship this week, and Hope men's golf will compete for the sixth consecutive year at the national championship.

The championships, which will be held May 14-17 at Keene Trace Golf Club, in Nicholasville, Kentucky, will be hosted by Transylvania University. The team and individual champions will be determined after 72 holes of play or the conclusion of the last fully completed round. Forty-two teams and six individuals not on one of those teams will be selected to participate in the championships. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams.

The Flying Dutchmen finished sixth overall at both the 2017 and 2018 NCAA Championships, the highest finish by any MIAA team. Individually, Hope's Josh Gibson aims for a third consecutive top 10 finish after winning the 2017 individual championship in a playoff and finishing tied for 10th last season.
