Week #2 recap for Sept. 5-11
• Calvin placed third at the Tim Kopka Memorial Sept. 8-9, posting a team score of 588 for the two-round event. Ben Van Scoyk (Sr., Grand Rapids, Mich.) shot a team-best 71-70-141 to finish third overall and just one stroke behind medalist honors.
• Hope dominated the 21-team Aurora Invitational Sept. 5, finishing 25 strokes ahead of the field to win the team title. Josh Gibson (Jr., Grandville, Mich.) won the one-day, 36-hole event with a 72-68--140.
• At the six-team Battle at the Brook Sept. 9-10, Kalamazoo finished third while Olivet placed sixth. Leading the Hornets was Jackson Jones (Fr., Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), who shot a one-under 71 on Sunday to aid Kalamazoo in moving up in the field.
• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Sept. 11 was:
