The 2023-24 season has brought a raft of awards to Overway's mantle. He was named the 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Player, receiving the award for the second straight season. He was also named to the All-MIAA First Team for the second straight year. Yesterday he was named to the NABC All-District First Team and to the D3hoops.com All-Region 7 First Team.

He was a three-time MIAA Player of the Week during the 2023-24 season and landed spot on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week once. He also was named the USBWA Division III National Player of the Week on January 23.

In addition, he has been named to the Bevo Francis Small College Basketball Award Top 50 Watch list.

He averaged 19.7 points and 10.4 rebounds a game while connecting on 55.7 percent of his field goal attempts, 74.3 percent of free throw attempts and 31.2 percent of his three-point tries. He recorded 16 double-doubles this season and has 29 double-doubles in his career. He was the 2024 MIAA scoring champion. He had three games of 30 points or more including a career-high 42 points in a January 20 win over Alma. During the season he became the sixth player in Calvin men's basketball history to reach 1,000 points in his first two years in a Calvin uniform. He currently ranks 23rd on the Calvin career scoring list with 1,092 career points.

He is the first Calvin men's basketball player since Steve Honderd achieved the feat in 1992 and 1993 to earn NABC All-America honors in back-to-back seasons. Jeremy Veenstra had been the last Calvin men's basketball player to earn All-America honors in back-to-back seasons, doing so three straight years (2001, 2002, 2003) with D3hoops.com and once with the NABC (2002).

Overway helped the Calvin men's basketball team capture a share of the 2024 MIAA regular season title while also helping the Knights reach the national quarterfinals of the NCAA III Tournament for the first time since the 2005 season. Calvin finished the 2023-24 season with a final overall record of 25-5, recording the most wins since its 26-4 campaign of 2012-13.
