Hope's Blackledge Named Academic All-American by CoSIDA

FREELAND, Mich. – Harrison Blackledge, a senior on the Hope men's basketball team, added to his collection of honors for a stellar season both on the court and in the classroom with his selection as an Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Blackledge, who was named the MIAA Men's Basketball Most Valuable Player earlier this season, was a first-team Academic All-American selection on Tuesday.

A double major in communications and management, Blackledge onws a 3.91 grade-point average. Blackledge has also been recognized on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Blackledge, a native of Canton, Ohio, is the ninth Academic All-America selection to represent the MIAA this year. This season Blackledge is averaging 20.3 points per game while shooting 57.3 percent from the field. 

Blacklege and the Flying Dutchmen will continue the 2016-17 campaign in the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament first round, when Hope takes on UW-Oshkosh Friday, March 3.
