Cold shooting limits Albion

ELMHURST, Ill. – Shooting 27 percent limited the offense as Albion College was dumped, 77-54, by Elmhurst College in non-league men's basketball action.

Albion held the lead for less than two minutes. Corey Wheeler produced Albion's first four points and Jordan Herron knocked down a jumper as the Britons took an early 6-3 lead.

Elmhurst scored the next nine and it never trailed again. Bryant Ackerman scored 11 of his 17 points in the first half as the Blue Jays held a 44-35 lead at halftime.

Arshawn Parker was the only Briton to score in double figures. He scored 10 in 17 minutes off the bench. Jibreel Hussein and Corey Wheeler led the starters with nine points apiece.

Albion, 3-2 overall, will play at home for the first time this season when it challenges Spring Arbor University Friday night. The tip is set for 7 p.m.
