The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) is represented by 15 student-athletes on the 2022 D3football.com All-Region 4 Team, which was released on Wednesday, December 7.  Additionally, Alma College head coach Jason Couch was selected as the D3football.com Region 4 Coach of the Year.

In his fifth season as the helm of the Scots football program, Couch led Alma to an 11-1 season and a second-round appearance in the NCAA Division III football playoffs for the first time in program history.

Three players from the MIAA were announced to the All-Region 4 First Team:  Albion College's Jeremiah Major and Mark Tocco, and Trine University's Keysean Amison.

Senior linebacker Jeremiah Major assisted the Brits to an overall record of 9-1, including a 5-1 mark in league play.  Major became a two-time All-MIAA honoree this season with a spot on the First Team.  He concluded the 2022 campaign second in the league with 45 tackle assists, third with 40 sack yards, and fourth in both tackles (84.0) and tackles per game (8.4).

Senior wide receiver Mark Tocco was named the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Offensive Player and earned First Team accolades.  He wrapped up the season as the league's leader with 59 receptions, 977 receiving yards, 97.7 yards per contest, and 10 touchdowns.  Tocco is also second in the MIAA with 16.6 yards per catch.  He was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on October 11.

Senior safety Keysean Amison was voted as the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Thunder to a conference record of 3-3 and an overall record of 7-3.  He is now a three-time All-MIAA honoree.  Amison concluded the 2022 campaign as the league's leader in both solo tackles (53) and tackles per game (9.8), while finishing second with 45 assists and 98.0 total tackles.

Those who were named to the All-Region 4 Second Team include Albion's Nick Fannon and Scott Roskopp, Alma's Austin Flowers and Odin Soffredine, Hope's Dylan Hilger, and Trine's Jackson Linback.  The MIAA players on the Third Team are Albion's Ricky Pearson, Alma's Alexander Dean, Carter St. John and Eddie Williams, Olivet's Chris Beck, and Trine's Jamon Gibson.

NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region 4 includes the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the North Coast Athletic Conference and the Ohio Athletic Conference.

The teams, selected in balloting by Region 4 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 159 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 75 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 16, in D3football.com’s pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLIX.
