Trine's Amison, Albion's Major Deemed All-Americans by AFCA

WACO, Texas -- On December 13, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced the 2022 Division III Coaches’ All-America Teams.  Trine University's Keysean Amison and Albion College's Jeremiah Major both represent the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on All-America Teams.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.

Amison, a senior defensive back for the Thunder, earned a spot on the AFCA All-America First Team.  Voted the MIAA's Most Valuable Defensive Player, Amison assisted the Thunder to a conference record of 3-3 (7-3 overall) during the 2022 campaign.  Amison finished the year as the conference's leader with 53 solo tackles and 9.8 tackles per game.  He was also second in the league with 45 assists and 98 total tackles.  Amison was selected as the MIAA Football Defensive Player of the Week on November 7.  He is now a three-time All-MIAA honoree.

Major, a senior linebacker on the Albion squad, was selected to the AFCA All-America Second Team.  Major became a two-time All-MIAA honoree this season after assisting the Brits to a 5-1 mark in league play and an overall record of 9-1.  Major wrapped up the 2022 season with 84 tackles (45 assists and 39 solo tackles), 8.4 tackles per contest, and 40 sack yards.  He was named the MIAA Football Defensive Player of the Week on October 3.
