After making multiple key plays on defense in Albion football's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association win over Trine Nov. 2, freshman cornerback Tyrone Collins was named to the D3football.com's National Team of the Week Tuesday (Nov. 5).

Collins was a key factor in Albion's win, notching seven tackles, two interceptions, a broken-up pass, and a blocked field goal return for a touchdown to help Albion take the lead for good. 

Collins first intercepted a pass on the final play of the first half and grabbed another with 1:06 left in the fourth quarter. Collins also returned a blocked field goal attempt 72 yards for a touchdown that put Albion up 17-14 with 2:29 left in the third quarter. For the game, Collins had seven tackles, including five solo.

Earlier this week, Collins was named the MIAA Football Defensive Player of the Week.
