Trine Football Goes 7-0 to Gain MIAA Football Championship

The Trine Football team posted a perfect regular season for the second consecutive year, culminating with a 48-18 victory over Kalamazoo Nov. 10 to win the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship.

Senior running back Lamar Carswell rushed for an MIAA-record 359 yards, shattering the previous mark by 30 yards set by Trine's Mark Wilson in 2015. His season average of 235.4 rushing yards per game in MIAA play also set a new MIAA standard, better than the previous record of 193.0 yards per game by Hope's Brandon Graham in 1996. Carswell is also now the MIAA record holder for rushing touchdowns in a season (24).
