Adrian's Stewart, Hope's Opple Tabbed to D3football.com National Team of the Week

A pair of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association football players were recognized at the national level Tuesday (Oct. 23) for their performances on offense last week, as Adrian running back Emmanuel Stewart and Hope quarterback Mason Opple were named the top performers at their respective positions on the D3football.com National Team of the Week.

Stewart reset the school record with 283 yards on 30 carries in a last-second 49-42 loss to Albion Oct. 20. The 283 yards rushing are sixth-best in the nation this season; Stewart had touchdown runs of two, six, 82, and 53 yards.

Opple, who was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, rushed for 244 yards, including a long of 81 yards, with three rushing touchdowns in Hope's 35-30 win over Olivet Oct. 20. Opple's mark ranks as the most rushing yards in a game by a Hope quarterback in program history and ninth all-time.
