On Wednesday, March 8, Alma College senior first baseman Avery Carnicom was selected NCAA Division III Hitter of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Carnicom assisted the Scots to a 3-2 record over the week, including a 16-6 victory over Millsaps and back-to-back 6-5 edges over Centenary.  Carnicom hit .762 with a slugging percentage of 1.429 and totaled four home runs and 11 RBIs over 21 at bats.  He also had a .808 OBP over five games and was perfect in the field.  Carnicom broke a 34-year old record to become Alma's all-time career home run leader in the victory over Centenary.

The Scots are back in action on Saturday, March 11, with a doubleheader at Rose-Hulman beginning at 12:00 p.m.
