Hornets Ryar Rinehart and Mike Ott Regionally Recognized; Seven MIAA Baseball Players Deemed All-Region by D3baseball.com
Seven baseball players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were announced to All-Region 7 teams by D3baseball.com on Monday, May 29.

Kalamazoo College freshman Ryar Rinehart was named the Region 7 Rookie of the Year.  Earlier this month, Rinehart was voted the 2023 MIAA Position Player of the Year after assisting the Hornets to the conference title with a 17-4 mark in league play.  Rinehart finished the 2023 campaign as the conference leader with 72 runs batted in, eight sacrifice flies, and a batting average of .423.  He also finished in the top three in triples (4), home runs (10), total bases (112), and slugging percentage (.789).

Kalamazoo head coach Mike Ott was deemed the Region 7 Coach of the Year.  In his eleventh season at the helm of the program, Ott led the Hornets to an overall record of 31-11, their first regular-season title since 1927, and the team's best season in terms of winning percentage (.738).  The 2023 squad also tied the 2017 team with most wins in a season (31).  On March 22, 2023, Ott won his 200th career game against Williams.

Both Rinehart and Alma College's Avery Carnicom represent the MIAA on the All-Region 7 First Team.  Tyler Johnson of Alma earned a spot on the Second Team, while Adrian College's Ryan Davis, Calvin University's Patrick Gillen, and Kalamazoo's Braden Mussat and Harrison Poeszat were named to the Third Team.
