Rinehart Named 2023 D3baseball.com Rookie of the Year; All-Americans Announced by D3baseball.com

Both Ryar Rinehart of Kalamazoo College and Avery Carnicom of Alma College represent the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on All-America Teams, as announced by D3baseball.com on May 29.

A total of 1,106 players were nominated for the 15th annual D3baseball.com All-America team.

Along with receiving a spot on the All-America Third Team, freshman Hornet Ryar Rinehart was named the 2023 D3baseball.com Rookie of the Year.  Last month, the third baseman was announced to the All-Region VII First Team along with receiving the region's title of Rookie of the Year.  Following the regular season, Rinehart was voted the 2023 MIAA Position Player of the Year after assisting the Hornets to the conference title with a 17-4 mark in league play.  Rinehart finished the 2023 campaign as the conference leader with 72 runs batted in, eight sacrifice flies, and a batting average of .423.

Alma College senior first baseman Avery Carnicom was selected to the All-America Second Team after assisting the Scots to an overall record of 22-21-1 (15-6 MIAA).  Carnicom earned a spot on the All-Region VII First Team last month and was voted to the All-MIAA First Team after the regular season.  He concluded the 2023 campaign as the league leader with 55 runs, 67 hits, 14 home runs, 127 total bases, 36 walks, an on-base percentage of .536, a .799 slugging percentage, 341 total chances, and 325 put outs.
