All-MIAA - Baseball - 2023

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- At the conclusion of the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) regular season, head coaches from the MIAA's eight member institutions that sponsor baseball voted on All-MIAA awards.

Alma College sophomore Tyler Johnson was voted the 2023 MIAA Pitcher of the Year after leading the Scots to a 15-6 conference record and the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Baseball Tournament.  Johnson concluded conference play as the league's leader with five wins, 43.0 innings pitched, 47 strikeouts, 153 at bats against, and an earned-run average of 0.42.  Johnson was selected MIAA Pitcher of the Week four times this season and is receiving All-MIAA recognition for the first time in his career.

Kalamazoo College freshman Ryar Rinehart was named the 2023 MIAA Position Player of the Year after assisting the Hornets to their first regular-season title since 1927 with a 17-4 mark in conference play.  Rinehart finished the regular season as the league's leader with 32 runs, 39 hits, three triples, seven home runs, 50 runs batted in, 75 total bases, six sacrifice flies, a .481 batting average, and a slugging percentage of .926.  Rinehart earned MIAA Position Player of the Week twice in his career-opening season.

Four players are receiving All-MIAA accolades for the second time in their career this season including Adrian's AJ Miranda, Hope's Kainan Bayn and Spencer Cable, and Kalamazoo's Thomas Sylvester.
