Trio of MIAA Baseball Players Named to 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Teams

Three student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were deemed Academic All-Americans®  by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on June 8.

The conference is represented by Hope College's Brant Kym on the First Team, Flying Dutchman Evan Maday on the Second Team, and Adrian College's Thomas Miller on the Third Team.

Senior shortstop Brant Kym concluded his baseball career at Hope with a grade-point average of 3.97.  The Business and Economics major is third in the MIAA with 16 doubles, and seventh in both hits (52) and runs batted in (41).  He was selected as the All-MIAA First Team shortstop this season.  Kym's batting average of .468 this season is the second-highest in Hope history.

Senior outfielder Evan Maday earned a spot on the Second Team after closing out his time at Hope with a 3.47 GPA as a Civil Engineering major.  Maday, the 2022 MIAA Position Player of the Year, became a four-time All-MIAA selection this season.  He concluded the year as the league's leader with seven triples, 11 home runs, 121 total bases, a batting average of .436, and an .812 slugging percentage.

Adrian graduate student Thomas Miller finished his Master's Degree with a grade-point average of 3.73 and previously concluded his undergraduate program with a 3.78 GPA.  The Bulldog infielder is a two-time All-MIAA honoree.
