Adrian's Rainey and Banks Named All-Americans by D3baseball.com

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Right after released the 2021 All-Region team, D3baseball.com came out with the All-American Team for the 2021 season. The Adrian College baseball team had two members featured on the All-American team. Gunner Rainey was selected to the Second Team and Pierce Banks recieved an Honorable Mention Selection.

At the time of the nomination, Rainey held a batting average of .410 with 68 hits and 43 runs scored. He had 18 doubles with three triples and four home runs. He drove in 44 runs to go with seven stolen bases  and a fielding percentage of .996. Rainey was just named All-Region by D3baseball.com and by ABCA/Rawlings to the First Team. He is also one hit away from holding the school record for most career hits as he sits tied at 267 with Ryan Dorow.

Banks was named Honorable Mention by D3baseball.com on the All-American Teams. The senior holds an ERA of 1.86 with an 11-1 record. He's thrown 82.1 innngs this season with 8.2 coming in the NCAA Regionals. He totaled a 2-0 record during the regional while not allowing a run. On the season, Banks allowed 17 earned runs to go with 83 total strikeouts which leads the Honorable Mention Pitchers. Opponents hits just .191 against the Sterling Heights, Mich. native which also leads the other pitchers on the Honorable Mention list.
