CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The American Rivers Conference and the NCAA released the All-Tournament Team for the 2021 NCAA DIII College World Series. With one available spot on the list at his position, Gunner Rainey was named the All-Tournament Team Catcher.
Rainey finished 7-for-14 during the three games at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He recorded at least two hits in every game. Rainey finished 2-for-4 in game one with a walk against St. Thomas. Rainey's first hit in that game broke the program record for most career hits. He showed off his power in game two against Johns Hopkins with a 3-for-5 performance with a home run, and double, and five RBIs. In the final game at the World Series, Rainey recorded two more hits with another pair of RBIs against WashU.
