Adrian's Parsons Second-Team All-America by D3baseball.com; Hayes Honorable Mention

D3baseball.com Mideast Pitcher of the Year Tommy Parsons headlines Adrian College on that organization's all-America squad as the senior standout was named Wednesday to the second team. In addition, classmate Hunter Hayes made D3baseball All-America Honorable Mention as a first baseman.

A three-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year, Parsons repeats his D3baseball.com All-America status as he was third team in 2017. He posted an 11-0 mark with one save while leading the MIAA in earned-run average (1.72), victories, strikeouts (109), shutouts (2), complete games (10) and innings pitched (94.0). Opponents hit just .232 against him. Among NCAA Division III leaders, Parsons is first in complete games, third in strikeout-to-walks ratio (15.57), fifth in strikeouts and walks allowed per 9 innings (0.67), 21st in WHIP (0.95) and 32nd in ERA. He has been on D3baseball's all-region first team for the three consecutive years.

Hayes, too, enjoyed a career year that included MIAA-topping eight home runs, 18 doubles, 56 runs batted in and .617 slugging percentage while batting a personal-best .351. He became the 37th member of the AC 100-hit club in the second game of a twinbill at Albion College on April 22. The exercise science major tied a school record with five hits in a game (Trine on April 27) and tied the program's RBI record for a season (shared with Ryan Dorow, a current farmhand of the Texas Rangers). On the national scene, he ranks 21st in RBI, 27th in total bases (116) and 31st in doubles.
