• Adrian added a four-game sweep of Trine April 28-29 to their body of work for the 2017 season, which gave the Bulldogs not only at least a share of their ninth consecutive MIAA regular season title, but the top seed and the right to host the 2017 MIAA Baseball Tournament May 10-12. Tommy Parsons (Jr., P, New Albany, Ohio) improved to 8-1 on the year with 12 strikeouts to just one walk in Adrian's 8-2 7-inning win April 28.
• Hope took three of four against Adrian April 26 and 28, including their home sweep Saturday. In the Flying Dutchmen's 6-5 11-inning win, Nick Holt (So., Muskegon, Mich.) tagged an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th to give Hope sole possession of third place in the MIAA standings.
• Kalamazoo kept hold of second place in the MIAA table with a 3-of-4 series against Alma April 28-29. On a weekend where runs were at a premium, Andre Gard (Jr., OF, Livonia, Mich.) went over the fence twice to lift the Hornets in a 6-5 victory April 28. In their 8-4 come-from-behind win April 29, Ryan Orr (Jr., IF, DeWitt, Mich.) went 2-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and three runs scored.
• Calvin took home four MIAA wins last week, with two victories over both Alma April 24 and Calvin April 29. In a 4-0, 7-inning win against the Comets Saturday, Calvin's Jonathan Keane (So., P, Brookfield, Wis.) struck out nine in a one-hit shutout performance.
