Adrian, Kalamazoo win on Day One of MIAA Baseball Tournament

Adrian's Tommy Parsons improved to 10-1 on the year by striking out 12 to just one walk in 8 1/3 innings pitched to lead the Bulldogs in their 8-2 win over Calvin Wednesday at Nicolay Field. Adrian leadoff batter Ian Mikowski went 4-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored; Ryan Dorow also scored three times aided by three walks. Tristin Richardson went 3-for-5 with an RBI for Adrian.

Kalamazoo 8, Hope 7

Kalamazoo's Ian Kobernick tagged an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning Wednesday to lift the Hornets to an 8-7 win over Hope at Kalamazoo's Woodworth Field. Jordan Wiley scored the game's decisive run, the third run of the day for Kalamazoo's leadoff batter; for the game, Wiley went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and a walk. Also aiding in the Hornets' offense was Andre Gard's 2-for-4 game with three RBI with a second-inning home run and a two-run double in the eighth.
