MIAA's Hunter Nash Named National SAAC Representative

FREELAND, Mich. -- Alma College's Hunter Nash was selected to represent the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (National SAAC). Nash will begin his two-year term in January 2021.

"The MIAA is excited to have Hunter step in as the league's National SAAC Representative," said MIAA Commissioner Penny Allen-Cook. "This is an incredible opportunity for any student-athlete that has the honor to serve at the national level. Hunter is very active in SAAC at his campus and I know he will represent the MIAA well."

Haslett, Michigan, native Hunter Nash is a junior soccer player and a Business Finance and Economics major at Alma. Nash has been a member of Alma's SAAC for the past two years and currently serves on the e-board as Social Media Coordinator. He has also played an integral role as the host and producer of Alma's inaugural "Inside Scots Sports", a weekly talk show in which Nash interviews Alma student-athletes and staff members.

"I am very excited to not only learn in this new role but also to represent my fellow student-athletes across the MIAA as well," commented Nash. "The MIAA is extremely involved with their student-athletes and I can’t wait to share these values with other conferences across the country, as well as create a nationwide appreciation for all Division III athletes. I am looking forward to being a link between the student-athletes and the NCAA, with the hope that I can pass on the voices of the MIAA and make them heard."

Nash also represents the MIAA's partner league in the committee, the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).  For more information, visit https://bit.ly/39KxVbA.
